Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB ZT-90101-10P Review
Serious gamers please hear me, this is the card that you need! The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 970 is a powerful graphics card that is designed specifically for ardent gamers. If you are looking for an incredible gaming experience, then you need to order yourself one of these cards. First of all, the card comes with extra features and advanced technologies for a better gaming experience. You should expect first class graphics when using this card. In comparison to other generation graphics cards, you will notice that the guys at NVIDIA really did their homework. With their NVIDIA G- SYNC technologies, expect double the performance of your regular graphics card.
This card offers a special technology that allows for high resolution in the range of 4K even when using a 10180 display. According to user experiences, its overall performance is good and there was little to complain about. One user mentions the coil whine and fan noise which are very slight but you can hear them. The majority gave the graphics card a 5 star rating. Here’s what I analyzed from the user reviews.
The card’s performance is way better than the R9 290. As you know, SLI would do about 110 frames per second when on extreme HD. This means that without OC, the card is roughly 10% faster than the R9 290. It’s smaller than the R9 290 and produces less heat and noise. In fact, when it comes to the noise part, it’s just a light humming and can easily be corrected with some special tools that come with the graphics card. Once you have done a good housekeeping job with the cooling system, the noise shouldn’t be a problem at all. I would suggest you fine tune things using the Zotac Firestorm.
The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 970 is lighter, smaller and it actually works faster than the R9 290. It also uses nearly half the power used by the R9 290.The over clocking potential is also decent. NVIDIA did a pretty job considering that all this come with a 28nm chip. If you cap the GPU with Vsync there is virtually any noise. Some humming sound will come up when playing demanding games such as valley and Furmark.
The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 970k is better than your regular graphics card when it comes to over clocking. For example the EVGA GTX 970 ACX 1.0 works at 1050/1178. However, this shouldn’t be an issue as you can easily change the settings using the Zotac Firestorm. If there is an issue worth mentioning is that the card hits TDP cap faster than expected. This is also a problem that only appears during serious gaming. This card’s maximum TDP limit boost is around 105% which is somehow limiting.
All in all, this is a card worth paying for. If you are looking for something with a great design, small enough to save up space but still powerful, then this is your card. If you want to minimize noise during gaming, then you have your card. It’s also good to note that the card can save up on power consumption.
