Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Review
The 3-Minute Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Review
World's First 108MP Penta Camera
By Rachel Hutson | 17 November 2019
Xiaomi has released the MI Note 10 smartphone this November to the European markets. Shifting the face of smartphones, as it's fitted with a 108MP Penta camera the largest to be equipped in a phone to date. This device has 5 rear cameras and a 32MP selfie camera.
It is fitted with a 6.47-inch curved AMOLED droplet notch display. With a sleek in hand feel due to its front and rear curved glass and aluminum frame.
Managed by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, 6GB RAM, and 64/128GB of storage. Running on Android 9 Pie and MIUI 11OS and powering this device is a 5260mAh battery.
Features & Design: 3/5 ● Performance: 3/5 ● Value: 3/5 ● Sound Quality 4/5
The cameras are what make this smartphone unique with a 5MP telephoto camera 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom. 12MP portrait camera 2x optical zoom and dual pixel autofocus.108MP ultra-high-resolution camera 1/1.33″ super sensor, 7P lens, 4-axis OIS. 20MP ultra wide-angle camera with a 117°field of view and 2MP macro camera for macro zoom shooting.
The MI Note 10 did shock us as they fitted this device with a 5260mAh battery and offer 30W fast charge, but I think this is primarily due to the massive rear camera as that will drain your smartphone fast.
The MI Note 10 is fitted with only 64/128GB of internal storage with no option to add more with a microSD card. We feel it was a significant oversight as it means that your device will become filled in no time due to the large images produced by the massive 108MP Penta camera. Then the fitment of only 6GB RAM will leave you with a laggy device.
Is it for you?
The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 was the primary focus was to be the first smartphone to release a camera over the 100MP threshold, but it lacked the newest chipset, larger storage, and ram. So is this device for you, well yes, if you are interested in photography and videography on the fly as this offers you a lightweight and in the pocket option.
What we like
The Mi Note 10 comes with a few nifty features like the IR Blaster that lets you control devices in your home and the fact that they kept the 3.5mm headphone jack so you can still use your standard devices with is smartphone.
The improved in-screen fingerprint sensor optimizes the unlocking experience in bright light, with dry fingers, and at low temperatures.
What we don’t like
This device has this large camera, but that seems to be the only thing going for this device, it lacks the upgraded hardware to back this device. The phone only comes with 6GB ram, whereas the Samsung galaxy note comes with 12GB RAM and the chipset is not much better.
Should you buy it?
If looking purely at the cameras, then yes, this is the device for you, but if you are looking for the best value for money flagship device, then you may want to look at other options.
