Believe it or not, but e-scooters have become an integral part of many people’s travel requirements, from inner city dwellers to commuters who just can’t find transport for the last leg of their journey. Xiaomi is a massive company that makes many different electronic consumer goods, and e-scooters are now a part of its growing catalogue of stylish items that it manufactures and sells.
While this scooter works really well, has decent range and even folds in half for easy storage, it is not a high-tech device. Sure, it pairs with your phone and gives you travel and charge stats, but that is about it. It also only accelerates once manually pushed off like a manual scooter, which can take some getting used to.
Is it for you?
The range and top speed of this scooter will be the main deciding factors for you to decide on whether this is the right e-scooter for you or not. In this instance, the Xiaomi M365 can reach top speeds of 15.5 mph, and has a claimed maximum range of 18.6 miles, which is really good.
The Xiaomi M365
This could be the perfect travel companion for you if you live in a city where there are jogging and bike lanes without cars and motorbikes, or if there are quiet streets or sidewalks when you need to commute. Its small size means that you can take it with you on the bus or subway, and then ride on to your destination afterwards. It weighs around 24 pounds so maybe it isn’t the lightest device to lug around with you, but it beats walking.
What we like
We like the simple styling and ease of use of this e-scooter. The air-filled tires help to absorb mostly small to moderate impacts while riding. The overall handling is surprisingly agile and the acceleration is quite nippy for a 250-watt motor.
The range and top speed are also really good considering the pricing and size of this unit. It is by no means a car replacement, but it will definitely help you to get from A to B if you need an alternative mode of transport.
This is a really affordable when comparing it to similar models with similar specs, so it is difficult not to like this scooter. All in all, it offers great value for money, and works exactly as you would expect.
What we don’t like
Perhaps the only gripe that we can talk about with this e-scooter is the charging time. It takes roughly 5 hours to go from empty to full, so don’t expect to charge it quickly 10 minutes before you plan on leaving the house. Most people develop a charging routine with their electric vehicles, and the Xiaomi M365 is no exception.
Should you buy it?
If you have transportation needs that can’t be met by a regular 2-wheeled scooter or bicycle, then you could very well find that the Xiaomi M365 fits the bill quite nicely for you. It is compact and light enough for most people to carry, although the maximum recommended user weight is 220 lbs, some people have reported that they can comfortably ride the e-scooter comfortably, albeit with slightly reduced range and acceleration.
