Cookin’ Up a Storm

Features & Design: 4.5/5 ● Performance: 4.5/5 ● Value: 4.5/5 ● Capacity 4.5/5
The Weber Genesis II-610 is a big grill, and it features 6 individual igniters for maximum heat distribution and even cooking. Each of these is controlled by its own individual knob, making the control of this grill very easy and intuitive.
As with previous models in the Genesis range, there is no side burner. It’s not a deal breaker by any means, just a “nice to have” feature that isn’t present on this particular griller.
Is it for you?
This unit is built for entertaining guests, lots of them. You will be the envy of the neighbourhood when you introduce your guests to this fine piece of outdoor cooking equipment.
Meet the Weber Genesis II E-610
As demonstrated by the other products in this range, the griller comes equipped with Weber’s GBS Cooking grates (Gourmet BBQ System) which are cast iron grates that are covered in a porcelain veneer. This makes them easy to clean and highly durable. Also present is a grease catching system, a foldaway warming drawer, and 6 ignition burners that are controlled individually on the front of the unit.
What we like
The grilling function of this unit is highly accurate and easy to use. There are a great many things to like about this griller, and the fact that it is easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to maintain makes this a real suburban winner in our books.
You will be able to feed an army of hungry guests with this gastronomic giant, and the only limit will be how much gas is in the tank, and how much food you need to cook. The flip out warming drawer makes storing the cooked food that you have just effortlessly taken off the burners as easy as pie.
There are 6 stainless steel burners inside this Weber, and just like the Genesis II 310 and 410, each is also individually controlled via a specific control knob. This allows you to have hot and warm zones on your grill for excellent control while cooking.
What we don’t like
The bigger size of this unit means that it is a lot heavier than a smaller gas-griller, but you kind of want that in a cooker that is kept outside. Its wheels are strong, and the placement is such that it is very easy to push it along if you need to relocate your cooking activities.
There could have been a side burner attachment or section installed on this unit, but as we have already established, this is not a camping grill, so it doesn’t really need one. When was the last time you needed to boil water outside anyway?
Should you buy it?
If you entertain large groups of people on a semi-frequent basis, or if you have an extremely large family, then this is a great cooker for you. Not only does it possess all of the qualities that make for a perfect griller and gas-cooker, but it looks as good as it is strong. That is something that sets all Weber products apart from cheap imitation units. Overall, the only deciding factor will be your budget, and how much use you foresee yourself getting out of such a cooker.
