Super Smash Bros. (Wii U) Review

Are you ready to have the fun of your life with your new Nintendo? Well, you better have some extra cash to get Super Smash Bros. (Wii U) as it’s the ultimate package that never disappoints in any level. I think no Wii U library should lack Super Smash Bros. If you love to see those chaotic fighting scenes which are really fun, then this is the game that you should be ordering now. It allows you to play with 7 extra players simultaneously and you can get access to a lot of game modes. The replay value seems endless as well and that’s why no Wii U fan should miss out on this game.

One of the few setbacks that you should expect is its underwhelming Amiibo toy-to-life angel. The game isn’t as easy as you would expect as well. I think the guys at Nintendo need to come up with a better in depth tutorial. It’s like you are on your own when you first get to play this game. However, I think it’s still much fun for the souls who love discovering new stuff.

So, is it necessary to buy Super Smash Bros? Heck yeah! Of all Nintendo franchises, Smash Bros is one unique quantity. You never get a better mash up of virtually all Nintendo characters in one game except in Smash Bros. You name it, from the obscure to the mainstream characters. Everybody knows Smash Bros is a great party game, a hardcore fighting game and an e-sport, why wouldn’t you have one? Do you need to know how this Nintendo’s cult following is massive? Well, at E3 2014 it took first position in the most obsessed over games.

Before we had the Super Smash Bros (Wii U) there was the Smash Bros (3DS). This was its predecessor and it also had a fair share of its excitement except that it was a bit difficult to control. With Wii U you don’t have to worry about control anymore as there are numerous ways to play the game. Do you prefer using the Nintend on 3DS, GameCube controller, Wii remotes or the GamePad? The choice is yours but some will work worse than others. Anyway, you could at least thank Nintendo for coming up with various options.

According to expert tests, the Pro Controller worked best. You can get one from your original Wii’s legacy although Nintendo already have an adapter designed for Wii U on the market already. The adapter supports up to 4 players. Why is Smash Bros better in Wii U than it was on 3DS? Well, great detail and size of fighting stages, better controlling offers and of course the ability to game with numerous players as well as online strangers.

You would never exhaust this game considering the extra power ups, modes, trophy collecting, characters unlocking and leveling among others. All in all, this is one of the must-haves for Nintendo fans.

  • The Good :
Numerous modes of pay, Replay value is endless, 8 players can play simultaneously
  • The Bad :
    Lacks an in depth tutorial

5 / 5
