The Samsung Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier is a distinctly premium device, and is built from quality materials. This gives it an air of sophistication and ruggedness at the same time.
Not everybody appreciates the versatility of a Smartwatch, and having to charge your watch every second day might not appeal to everybody. The chunky size might not suit everybody’s wrists, due to the weight it might not work for everyone.
Is it for you?
If you are in the market for a new time piece, then there are certainly many choices out there. However, not many of them will give you this level of high-tech gadgetry and functionality at the same time, especially if you consider the pricing on one of these watches. When comparing features to a traditional timepiece, there are certainly a lot of benefits to owning one of these great devices.
Meet the Galaxy Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier
The Samsung Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier is a fully featured device, and has Bluetooth, GPS, Samsung Pay, is water proof, and can run a series of apps directly from the watch. Charging the watch is very easy, as it comes with a cradle that you simply place it onto when not in use. It features an analogue turning dial on the outside of the watch for navigating through the menus, which adds another layer of functionality that has been missing from other smartwatches, which sometimes feel a little cheap.
What we like
The build quality and overall aesthetics of this piece are the winning features with this device. It looks really good, and feels fantastically sturdy. The screen is bright, and is easily readable when out and about. Battery life is acceptable, and should only need charging every two days, if features like the GPS are not being used constantly. Some models come with LTE, but this particular one is not equipped with LTE.
Where this device is really good is that it can be used at work, and while enjoying time away from work. It is water resistant, and can take a bump or two because of its sturdy design. As a watch, it works really well, and is a highly versatile piece of wearable tech.
What we don’t like
Not everyone will appreciate the fact that the watch needs to be charged on a regular basis, but when combined with cellphone charging, it is not an unbearable hardship to deal with.
Apple iPhone users will find that the features are not as well integrated between the watch and their phones, and that some functionality is sacrificed in the name of compatibility, but it does still work.
Should you buy it?
If you are an Android user with the need for a well built, good looking and highly functional smartwatch, then this is an ideal item to put on your wish list. There are some things that are not perfect, like the lack of apps, and the battery life, but if you are not overly concerned with those minor issues, then this is a great watch. The fact that it is waterproof also adds extra utility to the device, making it a great watch for all occasions.
