Samsung Galaxy A20 Review
The 3-Minute Samsung Galaxy A20 (2019) Review
Features & Design: 4/5 ● Performance: 3/5 ● Value: 3/5 ● Battery Life 5/5
Samsung Galaxy A20 is the latest phone launched by Samsung in its A-Series phones in April 2019. The phone has built-in UI software and Android OS 9.0 Pie. The performance chipset is Exynos 7884 with robust GPU i.e. Mali-G71 MP2. It has 32GB in-built storage and 3GB RAM.
Samsung has introduced in this phone an AMOLED Screen with a display size of 6.4 inches and a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels. It comes with a triple card slot for two Sims and a mini SD card (supports up to 512MP).
The handset has a 13MP back camera with an additional 5MP autofocus camera. The front camera is 8MP. The video can be captured up to 1080 Pixels at 30 fps, though you might require a tripod stand because the phone has no stabilization system. It comprises of a 4000mAh battery with a 15W fast charging. The body is made out of glossy polycarbonate material called Glasstic (a plastic material that looks like glass). It is available in black, deep blue, coral orange, red and gold color.
The hitch that we noticed in Samsun Galaxy A20 was its performance. It is just mediocre. While basic tasks are quick and efficient, it slows down a little bit if you have several apps open in the background and you are opening new ones. Basically, you cannot multitask on this phone without it being sluggish.
Is it for you?
That depends. If you are looking for a phone that can last an entire day without you having to charge it, Samsung Galaxy A20 is the perfect candidate to consider. The phone has a 4000mAh battery with a 15W fast charging. It can charge your phone from 0% to 100% within two hours. It comes with a USB Type-C port.
What we like:
The AMOLED display attracted us to this phone. The front has what Samsung calls an Infinity v display which adorns the front camera and the call speaker. The AMOLED provides the phone with vibrant colors, excellent contrasts; it is easy on the eyes and attractive to look at. It provides you 4 color presets to choose from. The black colors are intense thus making the night mode look quite classy. Moreover, it has excellent viewing angles and at 80% brightness, you can clearly see the screen outdoors.
What we don’t like:
The security on the phone is not up to the mark. Though it includes both face recognition and thumbprint that does its job, it does take a couple of seconds for the phone to recognize your face or scan your finger and wake up. Moreover, the facial recognition struggles in low light settings. This was a bummer for us.
Should you buy it?
This question is rhetorical. We are all different and we all have different opinions on different things. Personally, if you want to stay loyal to Samsung and are a fan of the One UI, then go for it. It does include some pretty great features. Additionally, the phone is a perfect mid-range android phone that does all the basic stuff a phone should do. Though if you want a phone that has better performance, I would suggest you keep looking.
