Plantronics Voyager Pro HD Review
The Plantronics Voyager Pro HD is a robust and reliable Bluetooth headset that does more than the average device. It is a single silicone-ear tipped earphone which swivels horizontally to allow the head set to be worn on either ear. The headset comes with the medium ear tip installed, but you can replace it with the optional small or large ear tip.
The microphone can also swivel vertically up out of the way provided.
It is a Bluetooth headset that can be paired with two devices at once; you can connect two phones to the Voyager Pro HD using Multipoint technology and simply answer whichever one is ringing. It comes with a smartphone app for iOS and Android, which consists of a test program and a manual. It also has voice dialling; you press a button on the headset and say a contact's name to call them.
The Plantronics Voyager Pro HD comes well equipped. There is the standard charger and an additional USB cable. Also included are two additional earpieces with accompanying soft covers. Documentation is included as well.
Call quality is excellent in Plantronics Voyager Pro HD. It uses a Windsmart technology to block out wind and extraneous noise while providing loud and clear sound and call quality. The headset has an acceptably high maximum volume level, so it should be able to be used in a busy work or travel environment.
The Plantronics Voyager PRO HD with Smart Sensor technology redefines hands-free convenience. It has the ability to sense when it is being worn or not. By putting the headset on, it automatically answers an incoming call or transfers calls back and forth between your phone and headset. If you take off the headset, it will not answer the call; it will transfer the call back to the phone or pause streaming audio. The headset also locks the Call button so you won't accidentally press it while it's on your desk or in your pocket and unlocks when you put it on.
The Bluetooth headset also comes with voice alerts. Voice alerts announce when you power on/off, run low on talk time, auto-answer a call or lose/reconnect the Bluetooth connection to your phone, volume and more.
The headset’s design is somewhat bulky. The backside of the over-the-ear headset, which houses the battery and radios, makes it uncomfortable at times, but it offers great sound quality and an intelligent system for passing calls between your phone and the headset.
Battery wise the device is certainly on par with many others and will allow for six hours of talk time and a stand by time of up to five days. Its range can also reach up to 33 feet or 10 meters.
Voyager PRO HD also comes with the Vocalyst service that takes you beyond the headset. The Vocalyst text and voice service lets you record and listen to reminders, send emails and have them read to you, hear updated news and weather reports, and even update your Facebook status.
Overall, the Plantronics Voyager Pro HD is easy to set up and use, it offers good functionality, it has good battery life and it stays in place.
