The Specifics:

If you thought that the OnePlus 8 was impressive, take a look at the new OnePlus 8 Pro, which is also dubbed as the best smartphone ever produced by OnePlus. It comes with a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen and an aspect ratio of 19:8:9. It's also a bit thicker at the sides and weighs approximately 199g (20g more than the OnePlus 8).

Unlike the OnePlus 8, the OnePlus 8 Pro is equipped with a quad-camera, meaning it has four cameras that help produce crystal clear images with beautiful coloring. Each camera possesses an individual capacity - 48MP, 12MP, 8MP, and 5MP, respectively - that helps them function in any environment, whether dark, hazy, or sunny.

As expected, the OnePlus 8 Pro has the Oxygen OS installed within its system to produce two things - speed and simplicity. This software allowed it to create some beautifully flashy colors and coupled with a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz, the videos, animations, and video games display super smoothly.

Similar to the OnePlus 8, the OnePlus 8 Pro supports 5G connectivity for fast data connections. It also switches back to 4G whenever your online activity doesn't need a super-fast internet connection. This gesture also helps to prolong battery life.

In the hardware department, the OnePlus 8 Pro possesses Qualcomm's superfast Snapdragon 865 processor and an 8 GB or 12GB RAM - depending on the model. It’s also equipped with a storage space of 128GB or 256 GB - depending on the model - which rivals an average laptop. Note that there is no expansion slot for a MicroSD card

Previous owners of the OnePlus 8 complained about how the battery doesn't last more than 7 hours, so OnePlus decided to add a bigger battery into the Pro version. Within the OnePlus 8 Pro, is a relatively big battery with a capacity of 4,510 mAh.

Although it's still not big enough to handle all the unusual feature that comes with the phone, it can sustain the entire device for 9 - 10 hours - that's a long time.

OnePlus paired the OnePlus 8 Pro's big battery with the famous Warp Wireless Charger, which can take your phone battery from 0 - 40% within 20 minutes. So even if your phone dies while using it, it won't take over an hour and a half to get it from 0 - 100%.

The Best:

The Best feature of the OnePlus 8 Pro is its super-fast CPU that can handle technically any software, including simulators and emulators. Also, its big battery makes it easier for users to enjoy their activities on the phone for a long time.

The Bugs

Although the OnePlus 8 Pro displays high-quality images, some users complain about a green tint across the screen whenever the phone switches to a black background. This problem usually happens when the phone is at 120 Hz and low brightness. Fortunately, OnePlus released a software update to tackle the bug responsible for the error. So if your purchase has this issue, try performing a software update.

Is it for you?

Not every newly-released product is for everyone. However, if you wish to own a trendy smartphone that possesses a performance that rivals most laptops, then the OnePlus 8 Pro is for you. It's camera also produced an image quality that was once exclusive to professional cameras.

What we like

Although the specs are a few figures higher than the OnePlus 8, we found the increased battery capacity to be an impressive addition. The previous version could only last up to 6 - 7 hours: fortunately, that's isn't the case with the OnePlus 8 Pro that lasts 9 - 10 hours. This feature allows you to operate the phone consistently without fear of it shutting down on you.

What we don’t like

The big battery of 4,510mAh takes a little too long to charge. The OnePlus 8 takes less than 70 minutes to charge from 0 - 100%, but the OnePlus 8 Pro takes an additional 30 minutes to reach full capacity. This feature is mildly uncomfortable, but not enough reason to deny the OnePlus 8 Pro of its status.

Should you buy it?

If a dominant performance, crystal clear camera, and a long-lasting battery are what you want in a smartphone, consider buying the OnePlus 8 Pro. It possesses a super-fast processor, a large RAM and storage space, and many more features that directly rivals the iPhone 11 and some PCs - It's a mobile deity.
