Nikon D750 Review
The Nikon D750 is the company’s third release this year and so many enthusiast photographers may be interested in it. This camera perfectly sits between the high end D810 and the cheaper D610 but what’s amazing is that it shares some features with both cameras. To be clear here, the Nikon D750 leans more to the D810 in terms of ergonomics, build quality and the feature set. One thing that the team at Nikon just forgot to enhance is its sensor. Let’s see what it has to offer.
Looking for fast continuous shooting? Then you have a camera that does it better than the D810. It even boasts of a better AF system than the D810. However, some features such as the metering sensor, viewfinder display and the LCD display match those of the D810. When it comes to the video specification, the guys at Nikon used the same as the D810 but had a few refinements as usual. In the case of the Nikon D750, they added powered aperture control, the zebra for overexposure and a Flat pic control mode.
When shooting video, you might need to retain exposure compensation and Nikon makes it possible with their ISO control that comes with the Nikon D750. They also added a rear screen for better video shooting. The screen, however, can only hinge outwards and upwards. Some people may miss the 1/8000 minimum shutter duration from the D810. Otherwise most of the features are inherited from the D810.
You could be more optimistic and appreciate the fact that the Nikon D750 can produce small files which makes it faster without necessarily noting that its sensor is the same as the one in the D610. In this regard, when it comes to critical resolution, the Nikon D750 couldn’t match the D810.
There is a lot more that can be mentioned about the new Nikon D750 but since it’s a short review, I will let you know what works for you and what you shouldn’t expect from this new product. First of all, the Nikon D750 is a decent SLR camera for photography enthusiasts. Think of its quick and effective AF system and its ability to get sharp detail. Maybe it can’t beat the resolution associated with the likes of the D810 but it surely beats the D610 in this regard. It also controls the noise very well. Are you looking for correct exposure in various situations, then look no further, this camera is good.
To cap it all, I would say apart from the details mentioned plus its lack of a vari –angle screen, it’s a perfect camera for creative photographers. It’s actually one of the best cameras for enthusiasts although it has some features specifically designed for amateurs. That wouldn’t be a problem as long as all the features that an enthusiast would be looking for are available. If you are a creative photographer looking for a full frame SLR, then this would work perfectly for you.
