Nikon D3200 Review
The Nikon D3200 is a compact digital single lens reflex (DSLR). It is packed with convenient photography technologies that suit the needs of amateur photographers, and compares very well with the competition within its category.
It has 24.2 megapixels and maximum ISO is 12800 which are certainly considered high. Its 35mm equivalent (wide) is 27mm and 35mm equivalent (telephoto) is 82.5mm. Optical zoom is 3x. The D3200 has a Guide Mode that serves as a teaching tool to beginners coupled with many manual controls for easier manipulation and hands-on learning. It is an interchangeable lens camera with a fixed 3 inches LCD. It has an in-lens Image Stabilization. Its video autofocus is continuous. Its viewfinder is relatively small which gives an impression that it was not engineered to do manual focusing. There is no built-in focus motor and no auto-exposure bracketing. Those who got used to point and shoot, this viewfinder is definitely a step-up.However, for the pro photographers, this finder is not the ideal size and is outshone by the classic ones. You cannot find any live view built-in filter effects which is now a common feature amongst cameras on the market.
One of the D3200’s lists of options is the use of infrared remote for triggering the shutter. There are built-in sensors on the rear side and front part of the camera. There is also the Wi-Fi transmitter for this camera; the WU-1a clips into the USB port of the camera for broadcasting images to smartphones or tablets with the Nikon app. The camera’s live view output can be streamed to your smartphone for remote shooting with a maximum distance of 49 ft but without any camera settings’ manipulation. So, the video recording button can capture videos and be sent online or through an HDTV with the use of the HDMI output. You can choose to attach an external microphone to make your home video recording more entertaining and with better audio. This camera weighs 1 lb. Its size is 3.8 x 5.0 x 3.1 inches.
Compared to other lenses, the D3200 is exceptionally compressed for a SLR. If the Mode Dial is shifted to the Guide, you will find a multi-colored menu on the display. There are a lot of options to choose from like whether you like to focus, take a shot, review your pictures collection or arrange the settings of the camera in order to make a very impressive image. While the Shoot mode also gives you options like Easy and Advanced. There are settings for moving subjects, dimly-lighted scenarios, sceneries, and many more choices. With all these setting options, it will surely take some time to configure the camera before being able to take a very nice picture. On the other hand, it serves as a built-in tutorial for those who want to learn more.
To summarize, the Nikon D3200 is an excellent cam for beginners and who would like to invest for their future career. It is equipped with a number of convenient features that are normally found in high-end professional cameras and it is easy to use and learn. It is definitely worth the investment.
