M-AUDIO Fast Track Ultra Review

  • 3.4 / 5
    • The good:
      Fine sound quality
    • The bad:
Poor execution, Quality control is awful
The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra has the features of a PC and Mac, MX Core DSP technology, a High-speed USB 2.0 interface, 6 balanced analog outputs, and an award-winning 4 preamps M-audio Octane. The mobile recording line is taken to the next level through the high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity which combines everything you need for a solid stability and performance. It also is jam packed with the following features such as the Built-in effect processing, MX Core DSP technology for Sophisticated Channel Routing, Dual Headphone Amplifiers, Professional Octane Preamp Technology, Bundled Software, among others. However, as thoroughly used, there is a disturbing noise that is produced as if it needs to be repaired. The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra works amazingly when running protools, but is somehow sounds horribly when recording vocals. You may also find it a bit of a drawback how one of the amplifiers had stopped working. It is also awkwardly producing a barely audible sound that seems to be not quite hearable. Apart from it being a sophisticatedly sleek decoration and fashion ensemble, it somehow lacks the personality and functionality that is expected for a stable set of headphones, even for those that are just entry-level. The longevity rate of the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra is undoubtedly good for just a year. If it goes over that, then it is good luck, or maybe you took care of it in the most extreme way. A lot of musicians and technology buffs have had complaints about this malfunctioning hardware. They have exasperatingly reacted on how it does not come with a customer support or guidance to help you with. You may also encounter a problem which may be existential even if you have just received it. In worst cases, if you have just removed it right out of the box. Whatever did they do to the quality control? Bottom line is, the M-audio Fast Track Ultra has all you need in an amazingly conceptualized set of headphones but then again, it needs FURTHER execution refinement. Because obviously the corporate responsibility have been taken for granted. It is time that they take account for their poor class.
