Huawei P20 Review
The 3-Minute Huawei P20 Review
Huawei’s Flagship Sails into View

Features & Design: 4.5/5 ● Performance: 4.5/5 ● Value: 4.5/5 ● Sound Quality 4/5
This is a 5.8-inch device with a LTPS IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2240, with a pixel density of 429ppi. This makes for an amazingly detailed and clear screen. The internals are no slouch either, with a Kirin 970 chipset and 4GB of RAM. Cameras are also really good, with 2 rear facing cameras and a selfie cam.
Although the premium construction of this device looks really great and stylish, it does attract finger prints and smudges. It also does not appear to have a full IP67 rating, which means that you shouldn’t look at submerging this in water.
Is it for you?
Huawei knows how to make really good devices, so if you are looking for a premium device with flagship specifications, then this is a good option for sure. The screen makes this a really beautiful device to watch movies and enjoy content on, and the cameras are really clear and can take amazing photos with a depth of field that looks almost like a stand alone camera.
The Huawei P20
If you are looking at getting a distinctly high quality, premium device, then this is the phone for you. The dual rear facing cameras makes it possible for users to take amazingly detailed photos, while the front facing selfie camera packs a punch, at 24MP. This camera is nestled in a small front facing screen notch, which although polarizing as a feature, is something that users can probably get used to over time.
What we like
As far as flagship models of smart phones go, the pricing on the Huawei P20 is quite reasonable. If you consider the camera functionality and great screen, then you are certainly not going to find too many devices that can trade blows with the P20 within this price point.
The cameras are also able to take 960fps slow motion video, and even a machine learning application that lets users take really good photos. The varying lighting conditions that the Huawei is capable of taking photos means that there are few situations that you will encounter where you will need to take a separate camera with you for highly detailed pictures.
Stability and solid performance are 2 attributes that come to mind when we think of Huawei flagship devices, and the P20 is no different. This makes the P20 an obvious choice within this price bracket.
What we don’t like
The only real downside to this phone is the finger print magnet like glass cover on the back of the phone. This is a small complaint, but if you are constantly polishing off finger prints from your phone then it could be something to consider. Getting a cover would remedy this easily though. The other small complain is the notch. This is a feature that you either love or hate, but after a few hours of use it is unlikely to be a problem for most people.
Should you buy it?
If you want a beautiful phone with excellent front and rear cameras, a good battery, and amazing build quality, then the Huawei P20 is definitely a reasonable choice for you. This price point doesn’t normally get you to this kind of premium hardware, so it is worth considering if you don’t mind the notch.
