HTC Desire EYE Review
HTC Desire EYE review
Selfie lovers’ dream came true last year when HTC decided to offer them a front facing 13 megapixel camera with a flash. Since its release, it has been the talk of the day as it’s the first phone to consider the Selfie loving generation. Most phones don’t really give much attention to the front facing camera but HTC decided to make a difference. Although it may seem as its main selling point, as it also has a 13 megapixel rear camera. What’s more than cameras? We give you the answer in this review HTC Desire EYE review:
The HTC Desire EYE has a bright and bold screen, an exceptional waterproof body and comes with abundance of power. Its front facing flash is the first ever and therefore we must give credit where due. However, HTC didn’t really focus on the image quality even after installing two 13 megapixel cameras. The focus is a bit off and images may suffer from blur and noise especially in low lit areas. If image quality is a priority, then the HTC Desire EYE will disappoint you but if you want to enjoy some fun software and unique specs covered in a nice waterproof body, then the HTC Desire EYE is the phone for you.
Although HTC concentrated on the camera’s on their marketing campaign, they sure got it all wrong. The phone is more about its build as the cameras aren’t the best that you can find. The only advantage with the front facing camera is that it comes with a led flash so that you can take Selfies in the middle of nowhere at night. So if you are just concerned on taking selfies wherever despite the lighting conditions, HTC got you covered.
This phone like any other HTC phone comes in a very nice design, as you can expect the premium metallic casing seen on the One series. The HTC camp ensured that its chassis was outstanding so expect it to feel good on your hand. Moreover, the waterproof feature would come in handy when you want to take those swimming selfies and the phone really impresses the eyes.
Apart from the build, HTC also nailed it on the specs part. Here, we are looking at a phone with better power than any other phone on the Desire line. It’s capable of competing with earlier flagships from last year and can outdo older models such as the HTC One. Just to mention a few differences with earlier releases from HTC on the Desire line, be ready to enjoy a battery saver feature, BlinkFeed and HTC sense.
Although the HTC Desire EYE might have been labeled the Selfie lovers’ phone, there is more to it than its front facing flash and 13 megapixel cameras. Its performance is considerable, comes with a nice design and of course the water resistant feature is a plus. With this in mind, you may not find an easy match for this phone other than the cheaper Nokia Lumia 830 but unfortunately you will have to forget all the fun with the front camera.
