Google Nexus 6 By Motorola 64GB Review
Google has entered the smartphone market a while ago and they were able to establish themselves as a high-quality device provider, working together with different phone manufacturers for the Nexus series. Thus, this year we have the Google Nexus 6 by Motorola 64GB, which is already proving that it’s a high quality device that deserves some praise. There have been a number of improvements since the 5th iteration of Nexus smartphones and things are looking good.
Starting with connectivity, because many are interested in transfer speeds, you should know that you are able to download with up to 300 Mbps if you have access to a 4G network and connect through one of the LTE bands of the phone. DC-HSDPA, HSDPA and HSUPA are also supported. Besides these connections, there are also five protocols for the Wi-Fi, including the much more powerful “ac” one. And, for physical connectivity, you can use the classic micro USB 2.0 of the phone.
The camera has been drastically improved and it now has a staggering 13 MP sensor, allowing users for the first time to enjoy 4K video shooting at 2160p. This feature works at 30fps, so smooth video playback is guaranteed, while filming relies on the H.264 codec for high quality. There is also a secondary camera with a smaller, 2 MP sensor, that can still do a good job when put to work. A basic photo editor is also among the apps of the Google Nexus 6 by Motorola 64GB, although you can always rely on the Play Store apps for more features.
The Google Nexus 6 by Motorola 64GB is the first smartphone to come shipped with the “sweetest” Android version up to date, the 5.0 Lollipop one. In order to power the smartphone, manufactures have added a 2.7GHz processor from the Qualcomm Snapdragon series, namely the 805 series. This doesn’t work on its own, so it relies on 3GB of RAM memory in order to provide smoothness when running apps. Such an amount of memory should not pose an issue when running apps, considering that there isn’t any which could stress the phone so much. And, for those that are interested in graphics, they shouldn’t worry about quality, thanks to the Adreno 420 GPU of the smartphones, a top notch video card.
As we are talking here about the 64GB version of the smartphone, you should know this is more than enough not only for applications, but also for extensive music and even movie libraries, so you won’t have to worry about needing more than this. The AMOLED capacitive touchscreen has the classic 16M colors threshold, but it has a greater diagonal, of 5.96”, making it on par with the brand new iPhone 6.
The screen is coated using the well-known Corning Gorilla Glass 3 feature, but it’s still unadvisable to drop it on the floor. The rest of the case is made out of metal for an elegant finish, and the bulky Motorola logo is placed under the back camera.
