Garmin released the Forerunner 945 watch April 2019 as a high-tech athletic watch that is full of features and designed with runners and triathletes in mind.
The design of this smartwatch is to accurately measure your distance, speed, pace, altitude, heart rate, and time.

Features & Design: 5/5 | Performance: 5/5 | Value: 5/5 | Battery Life 5/5
The Garmin Forerunner 945 has an insane number of features, sensors, fitness and gym programs, training, planning, analysis of data, and all kinds of sporting features the list can go on for days.
With the inclusion of training load focus that helps you build a more detailed workout plan based on your needs. It contains every suitable triathlon feature that you may use for your preparations.
If you would like to use several features, you will need to have your smartphone nearby or on you, which may be cumbersome when training.
Some users have found issues with 4.10 firmware such as the 24/7 stress measurement not working, wrong calculations for multisport in training stats.
Is it for you?
Yes, if you are a hardcore athlete, long-distance runner, or a triathlete, then this device will help you train and perform at your peak.
This fitness tracker is designed for a particular purpose, and if you fall out of that category, then maybe you should look at other Garmin devices.
What we like
Garmin Forerunner 945 has included a crash detection and safety tracker, and this will detect if an incident has happened and send out an alert to your emergency contacts and start a live tracking feed.
The addition of music support, you can store music on the device or stream music from Spotify, and the device will have a run time of 10 hours with music and the GPS running.
The NFC payment option made payments while out so much easier as you have a digital wallet. The addition of many new peripheral features notably smart apps like Maps, Music, and Pay.
What we don’t like
With a device being this advanced and technical, you will find there is a high price attached to this device, but as we have pointed out, this is a niche market device for those prepping for extreme sporting events.
We do miss the touch screen option, but this was mainly done for aesthetic purposes as you don’t want a dirty, sweaty screen.
Should you buy it?
This expensive premium smartwatch that is very advanced with extensive features, so it may be overkill for the average user, so it entirely depends on your needs. I can truthfully say this a fantastic device that is of premium quality and stands out above other smartwatches.
