Fitbit Aria Review

Keeping fit and staying healthy at all times is one of the fundamental things in life and that is why I got interested in Fitbit Aria. This is one of the best running accessories that can help you keep track of your health.

Unlike other running accessories, Fitbit Aria keeps track of your body fat and weight. Most of the other fitness equipment would keep track of your daily activities and monitors how much exercise you get on a minute by minute basis. Nonetheless, for Fitbit Aria is less of how you move about but more of the percentage of body fat as well as body weight. That are quite a number of interesting features that I was interested in and I am quite sure that you would be interested to know a thing or two about the gadgets on how it works. The Fitbit Aria is a wireless device that is designed to measure your body weight and fat percentage. This gadget keeps record of the figures measured by storing it in some cloud service probably on your home’s wireless network.

Nonetheless, even before we go into detail of how this gadget works, let us first of look at the general design and build quality. Fitbit Aria looks quite stylish in design and would impress you on first sight. The device is normally available in two colours: white and black. These colours give the device a great finish. In simple terms, Fitbit Aria looks like a normal weighing scale. However, it is more than that as it has a sleek and stylish finish that is not common with many bathroom weighing scales. At the top side of this device there is a hard slab of glass about 0.3 inches. The primary purpose of the thick glass at the top of the gadget is to help improve strength.

This sounds quite weird but it is actually the truth. Inside the thick clear glass there are several LED lights which are very bright and provide clear crisp display. On the underside of the Fitbit Aria, there are four “feet” that buffer it. These “feet” are arranged in a circular manner and at the middle of the circle is where the batteries are placed. Amazingly this gadget uses only four AA size batteries and they are able to last for up to six months. This is quite good considering the gadget uses some very advanced technology in wireless connectivity. Setting up the device is one area that can be quite challenging. You need to connect this device to your PC or android phone, that is, after downloading the necessary app, and then connect it to a wireless network.

This can be quite hectic for the first time but the good news is that once you have connected the device for the first time the rest of the times it will be automatic. The device can also be used with as many as eight people whom each new person recorded as guest and their results stored differently.

  • Pros:
looks great easy to use can be used by a number of people
  • Cons:
quite difficult to set up at first
Our score:
4 / 5
