Dr. Martens 1461 3 Eye Men's Review
The Dr. Martens 1461 3 Eye is one of the men’s collections of Doc Martens, a company who has been in the shoe business since 1960.
The Dr. Martens 1461 3 Eye is a classic shoe with three eyelet and a smooth-finished, soft Oxford leather upper. It has Trans PVC sole that is air-cushioned. Its water, oil and slip-resistant sole gives comfort and safety even when walking on greasy surfaces. The upper and sole are sewn together and heat sealed for a more toughness, this is the popular trademark of Doc Martens.
The 1461 3 Eye for men has a simple style. It doesn’t have any complicated design or strap. It is a full-grain leather that has four available colors: Black Nappa, Dark Brown Unrestricted, Black Unresitricted and Tan Unrestricted. All these colors are decent and can be worn with business or casual wear. It is also great to match with jeans, corduroys, Khakis, or any formal pants. It can be worn in schools, offices, church, special occasions, and even in formal events. It is for all seasons and wet weather is included.
The outsole of the 1461 3 Eye has the traditional yellowish color. And the Z-welt yellow stitches accent the whole ensemble and make the shoe more durable. The outsole is usually the last part to wear.
The 1461 3 Eye is robust and heavy and needs time to break-in. The Trans PVC sole and heel are air-cushioned for comfort and ease of walking. The collar and tongue are padded. The insole and midsole don’t cause sweat; therefore, the foot remains dry. The insole is removable for easy cleaning.
There are, however, some changes with the Dr. Martens 1461 3 Eye that are coming from China. The size became broader, the lining materials are less breathable, the sole is less steady, and signs of wear and tear appear early. The price probably became cheaper, but the quality suffers.
The heel which measures 1.25” gives the wearer an extra height. Overall, the Dr. Martens 1461 3 Eye is durable, comfortable, versatile, decent-looking, and a great value for money.
