Dell P2715Q Review

The Dell P2715Q is a definite upgrade to your gaming rig or workstation; if you have the needed space on your desk, you should not hesitate and seal the deal with this 4K monitor. If you’d rather have the monitor mounted on a wall, all you need is a 100mm VESA mount to make things work. The stand of the monitor is quite simple and it will not interfere with your job. The bezels are quite slim, although they could have been slimmed even more. However, given the large screen diagonal, this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

The Dell P2715Q is a fresh 4K monitor designed and produced by Dell, and it’s quite surprising its price tag is not too high. In fact, the monitor is rather affordable and it can easily become a better investment than two, smaller monitors. However, you always have the possibility to pair another P2715Q with the one you already have and create a true battlestation. The ultra-high definition standard means you now gain access to a 3840 x 2160 resolution, compared to the previous 1920 x 1080 standard. Of course, you can always tune down the settings if your video card can’t handle everything you throw at it. If this is not the case, then you’ll surely enjoy the graphics displayed on this 4K screen, four times clearer than the 2K images.

99% sRGB calibration is slowly, but surely becoming a standard when it comes to high-end monitors. The Dell P2715Q makes no exception, and you’ll definitely enjoy this nice addition that saves you a lot of time when it comes to calibrating the colors of the monitor. The precalibration process takes place during manufacturing, but you are always free to tinker with the setting and achieve the desired results, especially if you’re engaged in color-sensitive projects, where precision is mandatory. If you care about your monitor’s display, you should take note of the anti-glare coating. Thanks to it, you won’t have to worry about direct lighting affecting your projects.

This IPS screen boasts not just 4K resolution, but also a 27-inch diagonal, which will make all work times or multimedia experiences unique. The dynamic contrast ratio has a value of 2 million to 1, whereas the typical contrast ratio is 1000:1.

The Dell P2715Q comes with four connection ports in order to suit your needs. A DisplayPort out connection port is supplemented by an “in” one. You can also make use of the HDMI and mini DisplayPort connection ports in order to link the monitor to a device of your choice. Whether you have a PC ready for the monitor or if you’d rather connect it to a laptop, you can be sure the experience will be flawless. This Dell monitor is also equipped with 5 USB 3.0 connectors. Four of them are downstream, while the fifth one is upstream. Aside from them, you can also use a speaker – line out connector that will prove useful, especially because the monitor doesn’t feature built-in speakers.

  • Pros:
4K resolution large diagonal size versatile connectors
  • Cons:
    No built-in speakers
