BenQ XL2430T Review
Key features
The BenQ XL2430T is a 24-inch monitor that is ideal if you are looking to upgrade your current monitor and benefit from a better gaming experience. You might have read a BenQ XL2420T review by now, and once you get to the current model, you will notice they are fairly similar. But the current monitor still has the edge. The 1920x1080 resolution is perfect if you are interested in high quality graphics when playing your favorite games.
Introduction
Although the BenQ XL2420T professional gaming monitor is a solid option to consider when deciding to upgrade your current configuration, the BenQ XL2430T has the upper hand in a side-by-side comparison. The current monitor is not a behemoth, given its diagonal size, but it is still large enough to provide a great immersion. The viewing angles are also more than decent, the 170/160 values being more than enough when you decide to play, even if you and a friend are practicing multiplayer gaming on the same screen.
What are the ports and interface ?
Like other monitors in the BenQ XL series, the BenQ XL2430T comes with dual HDMI connection ports, so you don not have to constantly plug in and out a PC and a game console in order to play on each one. Aside from these two ports, a DisplayPort 1.2, a DVI-DL and a D-Sub one are available on the back panel of the monitor. Microphone and headphone jacks are as well available, proving extremely helpful if you do not want to connect a headset to the PC anymore. The monitor also comes with four USB ports. Three of them are USB 3.0 ports, while the last one is a USB 2.0 port.
What is the overall performance ?
The BenQ XL2430T is over-par when it comes to overall performance. If you connect a device through the DVI-DL connection port, you can experience the renowned 144Hz refresh rate. Other connection ports can provide refresh rates of up to 120Hz, whereas the DVI ports provide up to 140Hz. These rates make the monitor superior to the BenQ 120HZ XL2420T refresh rate. The GTG response time of the BenQ XL2430T monitor is a strong selling point. The 1ms time is perfect if you are looking to remove ghosting from your fast-paced scenes. Immersion gets to a whole new level when you get to experience all the fine details in a scene, regardless of its speed.
What is the sound quality ?
The BenQ XL2430T does not have built-in speakers, like other BenQ monitors. However, you can still enjoy sound effects coming directly from the monitor if you connect your headset to the dedicated audio jacks available on the back panel.
What are the modes available ?
There are various modes available within the settings of the BenQ XL2430T. Each of them is designed to help you out in certain situations, so you should not stick just to the Normal one. The Auto Game mode is probably the most helpful when you just want to play a game; the genre of the game is automatically detected and the monitor adjusts its settings to give you the best experience.
Conclusion
If you want to pay a fair price for a good-featured monitor, the BenQ XL2430T is the answer to your needs. If you can manage to score a discount, you can get even more quality for the money you spend.
