Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" I7 2.5Ghz Review
The 15 inch MacBook Pro is Apple’s latest laptop and it features Retina Display for its screen and has the same power the Force before it had. This refreshed Apple laptop comes with the company’s latest technology on its touch track pad: the Force, which is capable of performing a number of combination commands using gestures. Besides this, the MacBook pro comes with a graphics card capable of performing up to 80 times more than the one in the previous year’s model; the AMD Radeon R9 M370X GPU.
The design of this MacBook Pro is similar to the 2014 model except that this year’s model comes in a much slimmer frame. The chassis of the MacBook is made from aluminum, making for a beautifully light weight laptop. The shiny aluminum cover is beautifully contrasted with the dark bordering of the screen that is common in most of the company’s high end notebooks. Its size, 14.13 by 9.73 by 0.71 inches, plus its net weight of slightly less than 4.5 pounds all translate to an excellent seamless design continuing Apple’s tradition of svelte and sleek designs.
Ever wondered why the ‘Retina Display’ has been included in this MacBook’s name? Well, this is why: The 15.4 inch display sports an incredible 2880 by 1800 screen resolution, totally impressing the eyes the moment it pops open. The image and app icons come alive with a mind blowing burst of color and the texts appear as though they are hand written. While watching the Star Wars’ trailer, the Force Awakens will appear more vibrant with clear details on this Retina Display, with incredible color contrasting and amazing blacks.
The Force Touch pad is another of this MacBook’s super awesome features. This Force touchpad, which is also found in the Apple’s 12 inch and 13 inch laptop models, spans a length of 4 inches by 3 inches. Unlike other touchpads, this track pad does not click physically but instead uses incredibly fast and sensitive sensors that simulate the feel of a physical click, with haptic feedback response. Some of the special benefits of this Force track pad are the Force Click. This is when one presses a little harder on the pad, activating a set of functions, for example, if one force clicks on a site on the web, this will allow them to view that page on a smaller window without interfering with whatever else they were doing on the bigger window. Force clicking a highlighted text, on the other hand pops a Wikipedia check for that text or a dictionary definition.
Its connectivity includes a pair of USB 3 data ports, one HDMI port, a pair of Thunderbolt 2 inlet ports and a slot for a SDXC data card. The set of Thunderbolt 2 data ports allows one to perform exceptionally fast transferring of files as well as connecting with external displays that have high resolutions. Unfortunately, this high end Apple laptop does not come with a Type C USB port.
