Huawei unveils its Y6 and Y7
Huawei is one of the market leaders in the smartphone realm, and each new release attracts the attention of the tech world. The new Y6 and Y7 devices for 2018 are seen as the low ranged, cheaper and more affordable versions of the previously released Honor 6 and 7. The logic behind this strategy is to offer more consumers some of the flagship features that come with their premium devices, but at a more budget friendly price point. We will take a look at some of the features that have been revealed recently, and why you might like to pick one up when they are released in the next few weeks.
What do we know about the Y7 so far?

What we have in these two devices is a basic size and form factor, with all of the usual features that modern consumers have come to expect from such devices. We have the Huawei Y7, which sports a 5.99” inch touch screen, featuring Huawei’s FullView Display, and a 13MP & 2MP dual rear camera setup system. It has a battery capacity of 3,000 mAh, and has a RAM capacity of 3GB and a 32GB of onboard storage.

The maximum capacity of this device is 256GB, and it is available in Bkack, Gold and Blue.
Y6 Features and Specs

There is a single rear facing camera that is 13MP, and a 5MP front facing camera.
- Size and Aesthetics
The device itself is a 5.7” inch unit, and has a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. This gives the screen an 18:9 display ratio, and there is a 282 pixel per inch density display that provides decent viewing quality, considering its price point. The device weighs in at around 150g, or 5.29 oz.
- Any other notable features?
The video camera is HD capable, and is able to record at 1080p@30fos. It has Geo-tagging, touch-focus, face detection, HDR capabilities, panoramic shot, and a few other standard camera features. The Y6 is LTE ready, and also has standard GSM/HSPA connectivity as well.
The final word
The rate of improvement on smart devices seems to have slowed somewhat in recent years, as the technologies have matured and the levels of advancement have levelled out. As such, there appears to be a price dropping function that has become pronounced with many of these devices becoming more and more affordable. The Y6 and Y7 are excellent phones at an affordable price point, and the features such as high speed internet connectivity, excellent camera quality, and decent storage capacity makes these phones an ideal choice for budget conscious consumers that are looking to get good quality hardware at an affordable price.
