Meet the latest addition to the Sonos Home Sound System, the Sonos One. Sonos One is the smart-speaker for music lovers and there’s no doubt about it.
The features we love the most
- Amazon Alexa built right into the speaker, start and control music with your voice. Play songs, check news and traffic, manage smart devices and enjoy all those other helpful Amazon Alexa skills.
- Multi-room Listening – Fill separate rooms with different songs or group them together for instant sound everywhere.
- Sonos One is backed by a pair of Class-D amplifiers and custom-built drivers – The sound is face melting and pure.
- Since Sonos is continually updating with new features, services and skills, your music and voice options will both keep getting better over time.
Ah last but not least it’s humidity resistant (perfect for the bathroom).
On April 26th, Sonos officially launched Alexa support for hands-free control of your music. Use your voice to play songs while you cook. Tell Alexa to turn the volume up while you’re in the shower. You can even request a lullaby, out loud, when you’re tucking in the kids. Turn on lights, adjust the temperature, and more…with Sonos One you can control your smart home devices with your voice. Not bad at all, right?
And…. to celebrate the Sonos One bundle will hit stores at a great promotional price of $499AUD, giving consumers a $99AUD savings off of the normal price. The Sonos One sounds incredible, so pairing it with the Alexa service to augment the unit’s functionality is a natural evolution of the product.
Few useful details on setting up your Sonos
The unit features capacitive control buttons on the top of the device, and is fully Wi-Fi compatible, but also has an Ethernet port if you prefer taking a wired approach to your connectivity. Simply pair the device by opening your Alexa app on your smart phone, and allow the app to complete the setup automatically. It’s that easy. If you have any other Sonos multi-room speakers, then the Sonos One will plug into the Sonos ecosystem with no hassles.
