Somewhat disappointing - 06/30/2008 By Anonym
I just bought this camera because I liked its good looks and touch screen. Having used it for a couple of days now, I'm somewhat disappointed. The good is that the pictures are for the most part clear and crisp, the touch screen features are reasonably intelligent and it is fun to use. The worst part: the LCD totally washes out in the sun - you just can't see it! This to me is just dumb design. Next,I found the shutter awfully slow. No problem if you are taking a portrait shot but if you want an action shot, fuggedaboutit. I tried to shoot my dog going at a reasonably good pace. Impossible! By the time I snapped the picture, the dog was out of the frame. I had to guess where the dog would end up, snap the picture, and keep my fingers crossed. Next, the camera shot images which when I tried to download them, resulted in messages that they were of an unrecognisable format. And yes, I did format the memory card and the internal memory before shooting. The movie video playback is also a little jumpy, and that's playback on the camera! The playback on my PC was painful. Finally, the Kodak Easy Share software is pretty lousey. It wouldn't load properly and I had to reload it twice. Even then it hung on certain features and I still can't figure out how to make an album the desired target for my downloaded images. I had to physically move the images with my mouse to the album. Kodak, if after all your years of experience, this is the best you can do, then maybe you'be been in business too long.
