 yes very functional unit ,way better than xl series but with a really worrysome flaw .If your download of the map upgrade is interupted and you have not saved the original in tomtom home you lose all your maps.It is wise to store a copy on a adequate sd card of at least 4gb or alternatly on a cd rom .also in cities where it is needed most it drops out around large buildings and tight cuttings which will hopefully be rectified in the future.overall is a very capable unitand worth a try.

 Just perfect gadget. In Sydney returned all money (650 AUD!!!) in 4 months using function ?Always avoid tolls?. Calculates very fast if miss the correct turn, knows everything in NSW. Very impressive Tried in the US - excellent: New-York - Niagara Falls -Washington - Philadelphia -New York -without any mistake Disadvantage: not very good in speed cameras even with the last (2008) Australia map, but it seems to be a map problem.


Poor route choice - 02/03/2008

 Seems to pick the longest route possible every time even with correct settings and options selected. Seems obsessed with the Cumberland Highway to go almost anywhere in Sydney when there are many quicker routes! So frustrating!
