A newer version is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB. And like its predecessor, it is sleek, lightweight and portable. A good strong point about this Samsung tablet is that it is also inexpensive despite having a dual core processor and the Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB may have the big name but it is targeted to those who are on a tight budget. Nothing much changes are made in the design of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB. It still has that black color finish, plastic chassis and a PLS LCD panel in a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The design is nothing new to write about as it is similar to the first Tab and that virtually nothing is changed on the front of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB. Holding the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB is kind of in the middle of being comfortable and afraid of dropping it. Unlike its predecessor, it doesn't have a grip on the back panel of the device. One thing to notice about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB is that it is built and designed for the money and budget conscious. Nothing wrong with that expect that it has made a few sacrifices in terms of hardware specs quality. If you expect a much improved and better tablet from the original, you are mistaken. Rather the nice screen featured from the first Tab, you get something that is okay in terms of function. Good not great. The battery tends to heat up a bit at the back. It’s not uncomfortable but it will as time goes on. Performance level, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB is not bad. It performed well on benchmark tests but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB is still the weakest of Samsung devices in terms of performance. Games run well despite the 1 GHz dual core processor. However, some applications and widgets that are preloaded in the tablet are resource hogging and it slows down the device. It also causes the frame rate to be slower than usual. Removing these preloaded widgets and stock applications solves the problem. Some areas of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB are slow to be uploaded and opened too like its keyboard. Battery life is also a problem as it can be used for about around four hours of browsing the internet and around five hours of video s being played in 720p. Some people are okay with it but some tablet devices ranks higher because of the long battery life without sacrificing quality and features. A good thing about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB is that is using the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS. This makes the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB a tablet device that is responsive, customization can be done and is efficient to use. In a market flooded with many options for tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" 3G 8GB may be a letdown to the more serious user but it seems just the right tablet for a budget user that relies on the name quality of the brand.
