Being on a budget is a common trend nowadays. From clothes to technology, there are budget alternatives and budget friendly gadgets and products. One such product is the Samsung Galaxy Pocket. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket proves that there is no shame is becoming in, hip and cool on a budget. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket is one of Samsung’s touchscreen smartphones that are geared to those not needing much on specs but more on budget. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket is light to hold at around 97 grams and its compact design makes it easy to place in your palm and pocket. The body of the Samsung Galaxy Pocket is made out of plastic and has a curved design. Even though its body is plastic, it looks and feels sturdy and is not cheap looking unlike other phones. It has a 2.8” QVGA touch screen that is responsive and sensitive enough when touched. It also has a capacitive menu and back buttons along with a physical home button placed on the bottom of the screen. Like all smartphones budget or not, the Samsung Galaxy Pocket has a 2MP camera located at the back. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket comes with a basic app for editing photos and that you can even record videos and store it on your phone. Recorded videos come out fine. It’s not that great but visually, it is okay as it neither does nor hurt your eyes and ears. Since the Samsung Galaxy Pocket is a budget smartphone, don’t expect the unit to carry high resolution images or videos, a fast OS or anything that resembles a Galaxy or iPhone. Yes, it is a Samsung and yes, it is smartphone but due to its low resolution, web browsing can be a pain, the screen is decent enough for typing and you can run a limited number of apps and games due to the built and specs of the Samsung Galaxy Pocket. Even though the Samsung Galaxy Pocket is not that high tech in its specs, call quality is decent as do when playing music, photos taken with this device comes out nicely. Internet using the Samsung Galaxy Pocket as stated earlier is decent. It is fast enough despite its specs. It can load even heavy web pages. You can still read the web pages despite the size of the screen of the Samsung Galaxy Pocket but it will strain your eyes and tires your fingers from moving the pages back and forth or zooming in and out more often than not. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket runs on the Gingerbread platform and features WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G. It has an internal memory of 3GB and has an external SD slot for up to 32 GB. This means that you can download a lot of apps, load a bunch of videos and music without worrying about space in your Samsung Galaxy Pocket. All in all, the Samsung Galaxy Pocket is a more than decent smartphone that can do most of what high end smartphone models can do on a budget.
