   The Opium Eau de Toilette Spray for Women by Yves Saint Laurent 100ml is a combination of bergamot, mandarin, lily of the valley for top notes; jasmine, myrrh and carnation for the heart notes and vanilla, amber, patchouli and sweet myrrh for the base notes. Even at first glance, these ingredients will have a spicy and floral scent.
   
   Since the bottle has been changed, the scent of Opium has gone differently. Maybe it is due to the difficulty of getting animal oils needed in making perfumes. Now there are synthetic replacements for the required animal oils just to keep up with the production of these perfumes. The new formula doesn’t attract attention just like the original Opium and it is definitely not as long-lasting as before. Also it somewhat smells like chemicals; it smells inexpensive.
   
   It is not even near that fragrance. Only those who had the opportunity of using the original scent could tell the difference. And they are all out to find the vintage one. On the other hand, no matter how fabulous the original scent smells, there are still those who won’t go for jasmine. Not everyone shares the same tastes especially when it comes to perfumes. If you don’t go for sweet scents, then you can try this one.
   
   The new scent is youthful, fresh and lovely; sophisticated and womanly. As expected the Eau de Toilette is lighter than the Parfum. It is advised to get the lighter version or to get the Parfum and apply a little amount every time. The scent life of Opium is between five hours.
   
   Yves Saint Laurent‘s Opium is a classic aroma with sophistication and distinction, makes you feel sexy and pretty. It fits women with tough personalities. You might need the courage to put this on especially the original version due to its intensity. Whether the old or the new formulation, both seem to have an aromatherapy effect that creates a feeling of calmness and delight. The original version draws a lot of compliments; the new one has some, too. Opium is definitely worth a try.
