Nokia Lumia 900 is undoubtedly a great addition to the brand’s line of smartphones. Its unconventional build and design, a perfect blend of polycarbonate and Corning Gorilla Glass, would easily attract the eyes of any user. The material used for the phone promises heavy resistance to scratches. It is easy to spot that the handheld is a bigger version of its predecessor Lumia 800. Lumia 900 measures 127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 mm and weighs 160 grams but it is really easy on the hands. The material used makes way for a better grip. Its 4.3” AMOLED screen powered by the powerful Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is simply perfect. The Windows Phone OS provides the usual manageable interface although nothing is uniquely Nokia Lumia 900. Just above the screen, you will find the ambient light and proximity sensors, earpiece, and front-facing camera while below it, you will find the usual three buttons which are very touch-sensitive. The right side of the phone houses the volume rocker, Power/Lock key and dedicated shutter key while the left side is completely bare. The top side of the Nokia Lumia 900 houses the 3.5mm audio jack, the microUSB port and the secondary microphone which is responsible for noise cancellation while the bottom side has the loudspeaker grille and mouthpiece. At the back of the handheld you will find the 8MP camera along with the LED flash can be found. The battery however is non-removable which means the user could not replace it if he wants to. The contact and messaging features as well as call quality are on top of the line in Nokia Lumia 900. They are highly customizable and heavily socially integrated. All options you could ask for are also made available. Windows OS is again responsible for the nice user interface. The same way goes for the gallery and music and video players which all pose no problem. The phone’s 8MP camera is impressive. It offers an excellent 28mm wide-angle F2.2 lens by Carl Zeiss. You won’t have any difficulty with the interface because it is really simple. The Windows Phone camera app covers a wide range of settings which would definitely delight the snappers. There is a dedicated Macro focus and there is a good number of scenes and effects to choose from. Image quality is top notch, capturing a commendable number of details and accurate colors. HD video recording however needs some tweaks. For one, continuous autofocus tend to go overboard which could easily annoy you. Nokia Lumia 900 offers a complete set of connectivity options, perfect for those who are active in social networking. It supports everything with its quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, tri-band 3G with HSPA, Bluetooth 2.1, and above all, its LTE connectivity. Syncing files with a computer using the Zune app is also hassle-free. As usual, the browser interface is minimalistic which is just the ideal. There is no Flash support however. A great number of apps is available on Windows Phone Marketplace.
