The Nokia E7 is sleek at just 14mm thick, and features a responsive four-inch touchscreen. The screen gives the user an excellent display of colors while its QWERTY keyboard is definitely easy on the fingers. Do not expect much from the phone’s processing speed of 680 MHz however because it only runs on Symbian 3. It goes to say that you might find the opening and closing of apps tiresome. With its processing speed, Nokia E7 falls short in offering the user with premium mobile Internet experience.
The phone has 3G and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi capability but like the opening and closing of apps, the browser runs slow. The sharpness of the pages will do with the phone’s 640 x 360 resolution unless you zoom it at maximum level. Nokia’s E7’s edge however is it supports Flash 10.1 content.
Compared to Nokia E7’s rival smartphones in the market, it is somehow far behind in matters of social integration. The contacts and messaging options are good enough and the lists also give you the two social networking giants, Facebook and Twitter, but for the actual use of the two, you have no choice but work your way with Nokia Ovi. Despite this flaw, the handheld is at the forefront when it comes to calling functions as it gives you superb volume quality – a trademark of Nokia brand.
For snappers, you can’t go wrong with Nokia E7’s 8mp LED flash camera. The phone also encourages users to take snapshots as quick as possible through its soft camera shortcut key. There’s also a front-facing camera for video calling. On the other hand, it is quite a disappointment that the phone lacks several camera options. There is no autofocus, macro mode, and shutter speed. You can opt to tinker with the ISO, white balance, and exposure however. It is also safe to say that the camera works better for video enthusiasts with its 720p resolution at 25fps HD quality. There are only three options to choose from -- Automatic, Low light or Night mode – but it’s nothing revolutionary.
