GoPro HERO 3: Silver Edition Review
The GoPro Hero 3 is the company’s third installment of the now-famous helmet action camera. GoPro is a well-known company when it comes to the production of cameras and other related electronics, and constantly brings an unique perspective with their products.
One thing that is very famous about this company is that it always produces high quality gadgets that are able to meet the expectations of the customers. Will the GoPro Hero 3 be able to match the needs and the expectations of the customers also? To begin with, we shall look at the design of the GoPro Hero 3. Unlike many of other cameras or rather many other action cameras, the GoPro Hero 3 is square in shape and does not lie along the side of the helmet. This camera is mounted on top of the helmet for better viewing and accurate capture angle. This is so unlike most of its competitors and it provides a pretty different and new experience.
However, the camera also has a number of mounting accessories which when used can also make it versatile filming from any place, whether a bike, car or surfboard. The GoPro Hero 3 is very small on itself and also does not weigh much. However, when you have to mount it on the helmet you will need to use its case which is important because it makes the camera waterproof as well as protecting it from other external damages such as knocks. When the casing and all the other accessories are mounted, the camera becomes quite bulky and heavy.
The camera looks very basic on the outside. It has its lens in the front part, a small LCD monochrome on the left and a power button below the LCD. At the top we have the record button while at the right of the camera there is a mini USB port as well as micro HDMI port. The GoPro Hero 3 is a modern camera and thus has quite a number of features. You can be able to connect directly to the internet using Wi-Fi. There is also the GoPro iOS app that enables you to connect and control your camera remotely from your phone or even PC.
This makes the user experience even better and you would definitely enjoy using this camera. This app can also help you enhance security of your app as you can locate it from anywhere and make it produce a beeping sound. The other important thing to look at is the video quality that the camera produces. This camera is among the best when it comes to video quality. In fact there is no other helmet camera that can be able to match the video quality that GoPro Hero 3 produces. Nonetheless, one of the shortcomings of the GoPro Hero 3 is that it has a very short battery life.
