     Auto focus is a bit slow
   The Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 is a telephoto zoom lens for selected digital SLR. This is one of the affordable Canon lenses that is not subjected to too much expectations due to its price as compared to other lenses that cost an and a leg.
   
   It has a 4-stop Image Stabilizer. The equivalent focal length is 88-400mm. It can capture detailed images of moving subjects. Even in low-lighted places, photos look good. Since this lens wasn't design for low-light, it doesn't perform excellently in less lighted places.
   
   There is a sound that the lens makes during its operation and its power is coming from the battery. This noise is when focusing, however, it is not a big deal since the lens costs less but the results are impressive. Some say that this lens performs better than the 18-55mm. The maximum zoom is very well taken cared of by the built-in Image Stabilizer. It covers a decent range with satisfactory results and the IS does a lot of good. It can take a distant shot with success provided the IS is on.
   
   For this lens which is undeniably cheap, many users couldn't believe the image quality it can create. It gives photos that will delight you and make you feel like a pro. It feels heavy and well-built, but lighter than the L series lenses.
   
   Autofocus is a bit slow and there’s no room for complaints since you cannot get a really fast lens without shelling out a big amount of money. Unless you are making a spontaneous shot, autofocus is not something you need to worry about. Besides, the speed of the AF is quite acceptable.
   
   The exterior of this lens is simple and typical, nothing unusual. Part of it is made of plastic with a plastic mount but the part that attaches to the body of the camera is aluminum metal that looks like plastic. It is claimed to be durable since it holds well even with everyday use. Its size is another factor why it is popular among photographers; it is lighter than others and more convenient to carry than other lenses in the L series.
   
   Most users have never been disappointed. The range it covers is desirable and the IS gives the needed support at all zoom ranges. With the price of this lens, you cannot go wrong with this lens. This lens has gained a lot of compliments from users. It is mainly for its flexibility of usage where you can use it anytime and anywhere. For holidays, vacations, events, at home or at work, this lens is truly handy.
   
   With the zoom, anyone can take a picture of insects, small animals, and even flying birds without scaring them away. The zoom makes this possible and you can quietly capture those rare images from a distance.
   
   In conclusion, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 is a blessing to those who want serious photography but are working on a budget. It is full of capabilities that are comparable with expensive lenses. This is an investment that is definitely a great value for money.
